If you are not sure whether to buy this album or the DVD, get the DVDmore…! Although the album is great, it cannot compare to actually seeing Patricia performing the tracks live on stage. I have been a fan of Patricia's for about 2 years now and have never had the luck in seeing her perform... the UK really isn't one of her preferred locations and I don't think I have even seen any tour dates for the UK in those two years! Because the album is in French, it is great to hear the pronounciation of words and phrases which can be used in everyday life. I am studying French at Uni and music just makes the learning experience a lot more fun.The DVD has 22 tracks and includes bonus features. Because of Patricia's long standing career she has had many tours and there are quite a few Live albums released. Comparing this album to those isn't easy but the main difference I have noticed is most of the tracks featured on the Sexe Fort album hardly change in their Live performance. This is a shame because there are tracks dating back to her very first album 'Mademoiselle Chante' which apperar in several Live albums and although they have been changed in the past to bring a different style to them, these still remain similar to the originals.The tempo of the album doesn't change largely except in 'Mademoiselle chante le blues' and if you see the DVD, Patricia and the band are absolutley worn out by the end of the track! I don't think she would have made it through the whole thing if there had been tracks which required so much energy. Although saying that, Patricia seems to be able to create a powerful voice effortlessly. The album gives me the image that it is one of those you may find at a party. It may be amazing vocally, possible to sing along to and will fit quite a lot of styles but is just one of those that is impossible to dance to.The album misses out valuable songs from the DVD which takes away one of those rating stars. This is quite an expensive album so see if you can get your hands on the DVD insead - it's much better value! Jahr: 2004
